GT On Surfing Team
19/11/09 - Leah Fineran

Total Spawtz executive sports manager  Glen Thompson (GT) says he is confident that he can provide a range of sports development experience to the surfing industry after being asked to join the Gold Coast City Council Surf development team. The team is made up of a variety of surfing heavy weights including film maker Jon Mossip who created the Bra Boys flick and a number the most respected surf industry professionals.

GT said " I can make a positive contribution to the industry based off my experience in the sport for the past four years and 10 years of sports development, sports management and event management experience".

GT's , rapid growth in the sports industry and his unique ability to recognise new opportunities has proven successful for some of Australasias leading athletes.

"I'm really happy with my career thus far and I want to keep pushing myself forward," he said "I have meet some fantastic people along the way and created some special moments with those people".

"I love the free spirit of surfing, the connection with being around the saltwater for most of my life has influenced me in a positive way". "The surfing industry is sometimes challenging but I believe there is still a lot of untapped growth opportunities available to the industry".

The development committee meet tomorrow for their first meeting at Coolongatta.
